Energy Efficiency Directive
The energy directive is much too detailed it should really only consider the strategic and commercial interests of the Union. If there is a political and strategic interest in consuming less enrgy, which is not argued in the Directive itself, EU liegislation should nevertheless be limited to setting savings targets and a strategy for enhancing internal energy production rather than telling national governments how to achieve it. Also, there seems to be very detailed rules on private housing, and how private houses must be better insulated. This creates great and unjustified extra cost for hours owners and much more bureaucracy, one again. There is once again also worries that the detailed rules are not at all applicable for housing in different parts of the Union, because the demands for insulation are widely different.
